Wayne County Hospital

Wonderful hospital for OB Care and Labor & Delivery. We couldn't be happier with our entire experience through pregnancy and birth. The doctors were always great and listened well. The nurses were incredible for labor and delivery. I would 100% recommend them for the entire OB process. We will go there again if we have another child. Dr. Schmidt really listens to you and helped figure out an odd pregnancy allergy. Dr. Baldwin is the greatest at solving that troubling pregnancy pain. Dr. Mahan was the best for labor, delivery and post-birth care.

Excellent hospital, as long as we live in the general area, it will be the first hospital we go to for the emergency room. They get you right in and taken care of. Also, the ER nurse named Judy does an excellent job in making you feel welcomed and also any family members that are with you. I went in different times, and I was so thankful Judy was my nurse. I give her 10 stars for her attitude and caring heart. I don't normally give reviews unless someone goes above and beyond or goes way below the expected. Way to go, Nurse Judy and Wayne County Hospital, keep up the good work and good attitudes!

I recently had my first child here. The care you receive is outstanding!!! Dr. Wells is amazing and shows so much care for you and for baby! The nurses were such rockstars!!! They made us have such an amazing experience and they are so kind and just a ray of sunshine. I am so glad I came here to deliver my baby because she was born with jaundice and she was taken care of and is still being treated. It makes me so happy knowing she’s in good hands and that they are doing what they can to ensure I have a healthy happy baby. Can’t say good enough things! I 100% recommended delivering your baby here! OB appointments were also amazing leading up to delivery.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Scotlyn and Gloria, two of the nurses who took exceptional care of my daughter Andrea and new granddaughter Hazel. They are excellent nurses , on top of everything concerning the delivery of my grandchild . Dr. Baldwin also needs a huge amount of praise , the staff who came for the C-section. Top notch hospital. After having surgeries at top ranked hospitals like NYU and Columbia Presbyterian, I have to say Wayne County Hospital could easily show them a thing or two. Every step of my care was professionally and compassionately mastered and my room was so comfortable and sparkling clean. Every single nurse communicated well, answered questions and was encouraging. Dr. Homedan and his staff (Trish) have an excellent record and I can see why. IWe in South Central Iowa are sooo lucky to have this care a few minutes from home. Thank you everyone who makes it happen!
