My dog has cancer in his lungs. His vet prescribed him hydrocodone as a cough suppressant, and told me to call around to find a pharmacy that has it and can fill it for dogs. This Walgreens had me on hold for 21 minutes and then said they WON'T give me that information. And they don't have any number my vet can call to get the information quicker. So I have to both convince my vet to try calling around for me and THEN hope they're willing to wait on hold for twenty minutes?!? Absurd. Low marks for my vet too, but Walgreens needs a better way, especially if the answer is no they don't have it or won't fill it for dogs.
I see all the negative pharmacy reviews, and yeah I don’t recommend going inside. I always use the drive thru and have not had any problems. Staff are efficient, but apologetic when things aren’t ready. It’s too convenient for me to have complaints.
Floor staff are friendly and helpful, but the pharmacy is a disaster. Despite having appointments and checking in promptly, we waited over an hour to get our vaccinations. We were polite, but confused, but the cashier was curt and told us multiple times that it would "just be one or two minutes." (Clearly the Walgreen's appointment process is badly broken, as I think it would have been quicker to walk in without appointments.)
The pharmacy staff is by far the unfriendliest and unhelpful people I have encountered in this line of service. One hung up the phone with a curt "Bye" before I can finish ordering. The next one, after I called back straight off rejected the prescription because it is expired. My other walgreen store employee will offer to contact the doctor to renew the prescription, but with this one I have to insist that she does that. The way she talked made you feel like you are begging her.
Staff are friendly and get good marks for that, but service is unbelievably slow. Despite filling out all forms online in advance, and no queue, it took over an hour for them to process my vaccines. One and a half hours of wait including the wait to get the shot. I assumed it was a fluke, but then one week late I had the same experience with achingly slow service for my child’s vaccine. It wasn’t a one-off. Avoid this place for vaccines if you can.
