WakeMed Urgent Care - Kildaire

I made an appointment through Mychart. When I arrived the front desk person couldn't find it and lectured me about it not being a real appointment even though it looks like one. Finally I checked myself in and then she could see it. Last thing you need when you feel like crap is for someone to treat you like crap too. Nurse refused to order COVID and flu tests that the nurse who had advised me to go to urgent care had requested. Saw Darren Ciccolini who completely skipped over the most concerning symptoms, checked for pneumonia which was negative, then sent me home completely empty handed. He offered cough medicine but I have barely been coughing so IDK where that came from. This was a complete waste of time and money.

This was the best urgent care experience I could have hoped for! Everyone was so friendly. Dr. Chao was knowledgeable and gave excellent patient care. He actually involved me in the discussion about my care. The nurse (I think her name was Debby?) was very friendly and efficient. Even the ladies at the front desk, Kathy and Fran, were nice! I was apprehensive about going to an urgent care. I was used to long wait times, crowded waiting rooms, and grumpy staff. I won't hesitate to come back here if I am in need of urgent, thorough care.

I have seen PA-C Katherine Bogart. She basically wanted me to repeat what I have been doing for the previous month. If someone is coming to urgent care, it means he is suffering and can't wait till next day. She failed to give me proper medication. She did not take here time to explore or find out about my case

First off, I will say that the staff was great. Very nice and friendly, and the service was fast. Unfortunately, that's where the good ended. I walked in to get help with chronic bursitis, and their literal advice was "take ibuprofen, wear an ace bandage, and just don't use your arm at all for a couple weeks." That's it. They spent 30 seconds examining the bursitis, and then told me what I could have figured out through a WebMD Google search. I also wanted to discuss some other issues I was having besides the bursitis, and was told "only 1 body part per visit." ...Seriously? Like my body can control what gets hurt and when to neatly only have 1 issue per visit? This place is clearly a cash grab. They get you in and out as fast as possible and without doing anything to actually help. Yo

I called and spoke to Cindy before going to urgent care yesterday, regarding an urgent matter. Cindy was so nice and recommended that I come in to be seen. I arrived yesterday and the staff were soooo nice. I can't remember the name of the first nurse that attended to me (so sorry), but she was sweet, she listened and cared for me with concern. Next was Dr. Casey - she took time to listen to me and my concern. She provided next steps and recommendations and provided care instructions. She was so kind, and I appreciate that. Finally, I met Cindy at the end of my visit, and she was very kind as well. I appreciate the care and great customer service. I hope I never have to go back to an urgent care again, but if I do - it will be this one. Thank you!
