Veterans Administration Fredericksburg Health Care Center

Traveling for work and got extended beyond my prescription supply. After a five minute conversation on the phone I was able to go in and get a temporary traveling veteran prescription refill to hold me over. The pharmacy closes at five but they saw me at 4:26 and I was walking out 20 minutes later all taken care of. The team was efficient, courteous, and the facility was clean and safe.

It's a brand new building and all the people who work there serve the veterans with a smile. Everyone is professional, courteous and genuinely care about the veterans who come in for care and support. Unlike most other doctors or hospitals, i find these individuals to be extremely helpful and prompt. If you're a veteran then I highly recommend this place.

Large facility with extensive parking. Friendly and caring staff. Currently (April 2025) understaffed due to funding constraints. Primary Care and Physical Therapy available. Many other speciality care departments are not open. The Veterans Canteen Service is clean and well stocked. The Patriot Cafe has several yummy menu items. The Patriot Store has a terrific selection of clothing, sneakers, snacks and gift items.

I had an excellent first visit to the VA Clinic in Fredericksburg. My care team were professional, knowledgeable, and supported my needs.

Pitiful is the best word that describes my 2nd visit at this brand new $370 million (plus), dollar facility. You can't fill a prescription here. You can't even get an x-ray taken here. Unbelievable. Add insult to injury. I got an MRI from Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg at Harrison crossing. I took it with me for a follow-up appointment, that was incidentally canceled, without any prior notification. After quitely screaming to the PCP Nurse, she informs me that Richmond VA Orthopeadic surgery will be evaluating the radiologist report. However, I must provide them with a copy of my imaging disk, so that.., (listen) they can "send it by courier, to Richmond VAMC."
