Customer Reviews
I have had several encounters with the staff at VCU Health CMH. My first two involved extended stays in ICU. The staff both times were fantastic! I could not have asked for better care and service. My next two interactions have involved the Pulminary Rehab Center in the Care Building. I attended 24 sessions in 2023, and will have my 18th session of this 24 session program tomorrow. The staff in Pulminary Rehab are wonderful. They treat you with the upmost care and respect. Sometimes I have to cancel a session, sometimes they do because of weather. On the days the sessions are canceled, I actually miss the staff there. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility. I can't begin to tell you how much they have improved my quality of life.
I have been going here for years the nurses and the doctors are always nice and caring all VCU locations are not like this location in South Hill Virginia.
I'm not even going to wait for my kids to be seen. This hospital is HORRIBLE! We have been waiting for almost FOUR hours for a doctor to come see my kids (ages 5 and 7) who are having a severe allergic reaction. They are tired, starving, and no one will see us. And today is THURSDAY, there is no reason for all this waiting. I hate this place. VCU should be ashamed of itself. When I asked why it took so long, the attendant was extremely rude and unpleasant.
When CMH first opened service was better than it is now. As it is associated with VCU in Richmond I would expect for services to be of the same quality. Scheduling and Billing can become a nightmare. There are services that doctors in Richmond say are available at CMH but when you go to CMH they tell you no. I personally went to a Nephrologist (kidney specialist) at VCU in Chester, VA as there is not one in South Hill. I accepted that but when I was asked for a urine specimen and I was told I could take it to any VCU hospital for collection including CMH. When I drive over an hour to get to CMH to learn that I've got a jug of pee they won't accept I had to then drive another another hour and 15 minutes to Chesterfield with the jug of pee to drive 2 hrs and 15 minutes home. My father died of an enlarged heart at 55 . My family urged me to get checked out . My primary physician said I looked fine but wanted me to have an ultrasound done on my heart to make sure . He refers me to C.A.R.E . When I get there , Dr Mohammed, comes in an says that an ultrasound isn't necessary because he's plugged my stats into a risk assessment calculator. And I'm charged a 75 dollar co-pay for my troubles. I'll take my chances at Sentara next time .
