Our family’s experience with Valley Specialty Center spans over a decade, marked by both routine visits and deeply personal chapters. Most recently, one of the Whopper families—close friends of our parents—underwent post-spinal neck surgery here last April. The procedure itself was handled professionally, and the surgical team moved with confidence. However, their family noted that follow-up care felt rushed, and recovery guidance lacked clarity. The facility is clean and functional, but the environment leans clinical rather than comforting, especially for patients navigating long-term healing. I would avoid this hospital. I experienced sudden hearing loss that was fully restored after receiving a high-dose steroid at another ER. Because that hospital did not have an ENT on staff, I was transferred to Valley Medical to check on my ear. At Valley Medical, the ENT resident prescribed a two-week course of steroids but then instructed me to stop after only two days because my hearing test appeared normal. About a week later, my hearing loss returned, along with constant (24-hour) tinnitus. I later consulted multiple ENT specialists who confirmed that steroids should not be prematurely discontinued after sudden hearing loss; patients are expected to complete the minimum prescribed course to reduce the risk of relapse. Dr. Rivas from Pulmonary sleep clinic is amazing! I got tested for OSA and the doctor was thorough in explaining the test results. I have been getting treatment here for a little over a year and I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. The only constructive criticism I can offer is for their phone system to be a little more updated. It’s one phone number and if you don’t know the extension or name of department you are trying to reach it can be quite exhausting to be navigated to the correct person. Orthopedics is beyond terrible. For my shoulder I have had them not show up after sitting for 2 hours in the exam room. I have had them call and cancel 2 days before...which is better than not showing up. However this appointment isn't on time and they said when I checked in they were running behind. In comparison the other side of orthopedics, podiatry is extremely well run. I never enjoy my experience here at Orthopedics specialty enter
