UW Health East Madison Hospital

I am posting this review because my experience did not align with the respect and accountability that UW Health says it prioritizes. At my appointment, my ADA-related needs were completed disregarded. I also encountered very inappropriate conduct from a staff member, named Dave, that made me uncomfortable, including repeatedly looking at my body up and down and an extended focus on my chest, even though my imaging was for an unrelated area. The Grievance Committee ultimately determined that nothing improper had occurred, but the response did not address what I reported. Because I did not feel my concerns were being taken seriously, I requested Dave’s full name, so I could file a complaint with the State licensing board, and that request was denied. Throughout this experience, I felt as

Oh they really love to see my ugly face. Although they accused me of trying to steal medical supplies when I was merely trying to close the cabinet because it's was left open. They enjoyed me pulling my IV out and getting blood everywhere. They do such a good job here I came all the way from Portage just to get the level of care you deserve... Not me though. Maybe they will kill me and they can donate my my surviving organs if they're not already spoken for. No they're good people here.

They throw patients in a second waiting area after checking in. Looks like a cattle run cubicle with numbers. Staff asks about patients health in a open area, where everyone can hear what's going on with other patients. Doctors ask these personal questions, walks away from open laptop to take a phone call. Patients info in full view so everyone can see a patients medical records that isn't their own. Unprofessional and careless. They refuse to do certain testing if a patient requests. They don't take patients concerns seriously. Not a good place to go to for emergency care. Highland is way better.

1st time at this particular location. I usually rave about UW but this visit was a little different. They had patients lined up in the hallway separated by a temporary walls. HIPPA was a huge issue. You can hear why everyone is in here, their results, and after care. After they release a patient they don't clean the chair or area before putting a new patient there. I have watched this happen for the last 4.5 hours I have been here. I'm required to wear a mask for safety however you aren't required to disinfect an area after a patient leaves. Something is wrong here.

I believe my car was damaged in the parking lot by someone parked next to me. I've reached out to security, UW police, parking enforment, and even the director of security (which UW officers Jeremy and Adam told me to). I've not heard back and fear that whatever footage they had was destroyed or lost at this point.
