I had a wonderful experience with UVA L&D and antepartum and the NICU! I had an adventurous c-section that was planned and it went smoothly. I was so well taken care of! Nurses Meredith and Jenna prayed with us before our c-section and that meant so much to us! They both took excellent care of me! Meredith was my nurse in the OR and she had a calming presence. Becca was my first nurse after surgery and combed out and French braided my hair and sat in the NICU with me since I had the morphine pump and told me we could stay as long as I wanted🥹 I then had nurses Candace and Priscilla the rest of my stay and I got to have both of them for 2 different shifts and they were so kind. I've been going to Uva for years for my crowns. I went to the emergency department in January of 2024 for problems with my crohns and covid. I was introduced to Dr. Schrimer, who was on call that day. They decided I needed surgery. He performed my surgery and I ended up with 2 fistula 's in my abdomen. Stool was coming out my abdomen and my ileostomy. He then performed a second one you try to fix his mistake. Didn't work. Left my abdomen open. The pain was unbearable. He bedside manner and office behavior was terrible. I kept getting infections. Now we are in May, and he did 2 more surgeries to try and find where the fistulas are. He told my husband he could not find the holes. All together, he did 4 surgeries in less than six months. He destroyed my life. Cant eat, lift more than 5 pounds

It's a great place! My husband has been here for 27 days and the doctor's and the nurses have been absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. He was in the ICU for 2 and 1/2 weeks and we are one step down from ICU and everyone is so great and very knowledgeable. He couldn't be at a better facility.

Place is a zoo. The individual staff members are usually pretty good, if not excellent. But the place as a whole is clearly underpaid and understaffed. UVA keeps pouring all these millions into all these ego projects they don't fully utilize or even keep open, and then try to squeeze cash out of the staff and patients by compromising on quality of care. The rooms are cramped and the furniture is uncomfortable. It's often a significantly longer wait than it needs to be, if they had more staff. The place just leaves alarms going on and on without addressing it. Sometimes the ER looks like bomb went off, there's so many people in line. Do the basics better guys. Get your priorities straightened out. Do your big ambitious stuff after you've got the day to day better down pat. Or maybe better i

Nurses, doctors, staff outstanding. The shuttle to parking garage and $10 a person Hospitality House ( on shuttle route) fabulous help. I wanted to stay overnight (vs go home) and had no problems arranging that that evening.
