US Digestive Health at Wyomissing

I have had a great experience with this practice. Dr. Altomare is very easy to talk to. He has a very calming bedside manner! I feel like I’m talking to a friend over the barbecue at a family picnic! I have some anxiety when it comes to seeing Dr.s due to having been pretty ill this summer and Dr. Altomare’s relaxed demeanor is a perfect fit for me!

I've been a patient for many years, and my spouse recently with two principal physicians who are outstanding. They go above and beyond personally; especially if any issues are serious. I won't mention their names as they may not personally be accepting new patients and don't want to put undue pressure upon the organization because they could triple in size and still be difficult to schedule an appointment. The care is excellent, but scheduling and office administration can be challenging to be kind. They eliminated the embarrassing forced electronic kiosk check-in. I felt bad for elderly and perhaps those who could not read; that's gone. Found some serious issues with their patient portal, but am told upgrades are coming. The response time for anything with this office is never quick. If you get a referral, don't expect to call back before at least 3 weeks to a month. You need records? It says on the recorded message that they will return your call in 2 days, but that has yet to happen. Leave a message to check on your referral and you don't get a call back. This has been my experience as well as three others. I just edited this because I can't reply to the comment from the official owner. Prior to be incorporated into US Health they had a 2.7 rating. That is far more fitting. The reply they had was to call them. And I believe that was my entire point. They don't answer the phone or call you back. Why would I bother. This is an upper management issue. this is an upper management incompetence issue budgeting

My Dr is great and both check in and check out were courteous and professional; HOWEVER, I have left 3 messages on the prescription line for a medication that needs prior auth WEEKS AGO and I STILL have not received a response NOR the medication and now the script has EXPIRED and the pharmacy needs a new one! Not sure i would recommend this office for this reason alone.

2019 I was here for server abdominal pain. I mean Freddy Kruger trying to rip out of your chest. I came here in the summer and the pain started in Jan/Feb of 2019. The doctor ran tests and an endoscopy on me, and decided it was just GERD. I told him he was wrong and he yelled at me when i asked for a surgeon referral, but reluctantly gave it to me. Low and behold it was my gallbladder like i told them when i got there. The stone was stuck in the duct (doctors don't scan here and this is where stones would get stuck!). It was so bad my gallbladder was necrotic! The test they run came back below normal. He should have taken this more seriously, but didn't. Long story short your gallbladder is a well know part of your digestive tract. So I would not recommend for digestive issue in the futur
