I feel for both sides as over-worked doctors/staff and patients constantly being neglected! Dr. Francis is amazing! She listens, doesn't rush you and you can tell she truly loves what she does!! Unfortunately, this means a lot of time she's behind on her appointments. For the care I receive, I'm ok with that because I dont want to be rushed. I recently had Acupuncture in the womens clinic and they did dry-needling for my TMJ and BFA was done to manage back/neck pain and help with anxiety. I did not have high hopes for the procedure, but was desperate for relief, and to my surprise that stuff worked like a charm!!!!!! Didnt get my community care referral until 4 days before it expired. Every time I called the community care provider to set the appointment, they said they never received it. After getting ping ponged between the community care provider and the VA for 4 straight days (over like 20 calls) I figured out the VA was FAXing my information to the wrong FAX number the entire time. After identifying the FAX number was wrong, I called the VA and informed them of the new FAX number for the community care provider. The lady said “we have to verify what youre saying is true with the provider. Let me put you on hold while I call them and verify the FAX number.” After a few minutes of being on hold, she then proceeds to tell me, “the referral has been FAXED to the appropriate number.” So I wait 40 min

Amazing visit. This was my first VA visit after I retired. The hospital is clean and well lit. The staff were incredible from the lab section to the audiologist and everything in between.

Out of all the VAs I’ve been to in my life, I’ve never had this much trouble trying to get care or even get a simple doctors appointment. This VA is so horrible. Haven’t been able to get an appointment since last February! I call and ask for patient advocacy just to be transferred to 5 of the wrong individuals then get told it’s a community care issue and then community care doesn’t answer. They say “we don’t have enough providers” then do literally nothing in helping you get community care.

How these people stay employed is beyond me. They ripped my DD214, which I had taken great care of over the years. Additionally, I spent over an hour trying to get scheduled for healthcare enrollment. The reason? They wouldn’t pick up the phone. Not just today, but over the past couple weeks. On a rare instance of getting through, I would be told that the specific person assigned to me wasn’t available. My solution? I scheduled for enrollment in Raleigh, which took 10 minutes for them to pull my info from Fayetteville VA center & get me enrolled with a primary healthcare provider.
