Upstate University Hospital

I had the pleasure of visiting the emergency room Sept. 30, 2025. I took my wife there 4 or 5 weeks prior. I choose Upstate for my issue. When I was removed from the ambulance stretcher, I was placed in a recliner in the hall. The same chair my wife was in at her visit. 33H. When it became my turn for medical attention, all I can say is wow and thanks. I was asked if I was cold and then I was given two pre-warmed blankets. Next came a portal for blood draws and some needed fluids. I also had a CT scan. Everyone was GREAT. I would like to send a special Thank You to some very special people (Grand Children) for taking care of me. Please share this letter of thanks with to Great people of the emergency department. Took my partner to this hospital for a traumatic head injury, not only did they take 45 minutes to triage them, within the 3 hours we spent in the waiting room not a single staff checked on them. this hospital employs more security than doctors and nurses. they are grossly understaffed and grossly unable to provide adequate healthcare. it took 20 minutes to be seen at crouse hospital up the hill. this place should be shut down immediately.

The family medicine clinic at Upstate has been a major disappointment. I’ve been a patient there for a while now, and they’ve consistently had billing problems. They keep adding unnecessary services that aren’t covered by my insurance, and the doctor seems completely clueless about the insurance coverage. As a result, I keep getting surprise bills, and they’ve done nothing to fix this issue. To make matters worse, they refused to refill my prescription because I canceled the appointment that they changed without asking. I was about to schedule another appointment with them, but after they denied my medication refill, I’ve decided to switch to another provider.

Fantastic doctors and nurses! Really top-notch care. Very knowledgeable about health conditions of every sort. They saved my butt.

Grossly understaffed for doctors, but seemingly overstaffed for nurses. I came in at two in the morning and two traumas arrived to perform taking the doctors away from the emergency room. I came for severe abdominal pain and they I have not checked on me. Also, there’s a lot of political shirts on staff and there’s glass on the floor next to my bed in the hallway.
