Hard School, and it should be. This program is not about compassion. This program is built to prepare you very well for the NCLEX and stepping into your clinical practice with confidence. Get kicked in the butt, eat some dust pull yourself together and develop organizational skills that you will need on a daily basis. Rise above the noise and how faculty should be teaching. Is not about that. Great school, great instructors. Keep it up SHY. Emiliano, RN
I would give a zero if it were an option. They harp about you being there yet they show up when and if they feel like it. The instructors should probably check their attitudes at the start of class. If they don’t want to answer questions and teach, they shouldn’t be teaching. The semesters spent at this establishment were so unorganized and downright nasty. Empathy and compassion are imperative tools in nursing and some of the instructors don’t have either. Don’t make a mistake, even though you are learning. From administration to instructors they can “inadvertently” make mistakes but, you can’t. Go somewhere else and save your time and money!
This school should be ashamed of itself. My niece, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, is being forced to drop out because they could not be flexible over her being 20 minutes late due to her doctors appointments. I read your cover talking about teaching compassion to students. How can you teach it and not show it when one of your students gets diagnosed with cancer and you won't be flexible with her doctor appointments. Not only that, they are making her repay everything for this semester. What a way to show an active member of the Airforce reserves your compassion. If I had it my way, this school would loose it's credentials
Would give zero starts if allowed. Daughter was a student for approximately four weeks before having a medical issue necessitating her withdrawal. During that time, her only graded assignments were a 98 and a 100. We were told she would be welcomed back when she was ready. However, the school had given her a 0.0 GPA and denied her the possibility of readmission based on her GPA. We provided documentation regarding the medical withdrawal and medical readiness to return. Their own handbook states no quality points are assigned when you have a legitimate withdrawal. No one will explain how she has a 0.0! Laurel just talks circles back around to she withdrew. So no, I don’t recommend this school. They don’t give a damn about their students and won’t even follow their own handbook!
Need to share my daughter's story for future students. Don't believe the compassion and caring for students. My daughter received a C- on her final for the last semester of the 16 month course. She missed by .30%.(yes, less than 1%) This equates to one question over 4-5 tests. We met with the last instructor and she went over the final with my daughter. She advised that there were some question changes, but none benefited her. She did not want to be bothered by checking the previous 4 tests to see if this would assist. She provided my daughter with other schools and the life support line. We then met with, fitting enough, the director of Student success, Westrum on a teams call. This was cold and meaningless call where we were told grades were final, they do not round up grades, and she cou
