UPMC Kane

This was my first time at UPMC Kane, and the staff treated me very respectfully. A lady even walked me to where I needed to be when I got lost, and everyone from registration to the tech and the person who did my X-ray was kind and helpful. The only issues I noticed were a couple overflowing garbage cans, no paper towels in the radiology bathroom, and the entryway letting in a lot of cold air. Overall, I still had a good experience and would recommend this facility.

Won't help with anything and transfer you if it is something serious. They have people die in the waiting room waiting for help. Either waiting for transfer or not getting seen. Nurses joke and banter at each other about patients conditions in ear shot of other patients. Never get to see a doctor either. Basically just a urgent care with imaging equipment and a lab. This is where you go when you know what you have, because they won't know.

I was referred to the ER by WellNow. I’ve been sitting here for 4 hours and haven’t even been triaged. They don’t even know why I’m here. I came here because PH Elk ER is terrible and local people have said they’re now going to Kane and DuBois. 4 hours and all that’s been done is patient registration. I’m leaving. Maybe if I have to come back in an ambulance they’ll see me. After reading the Response from Owner, I went to their Feedback form and UPMC Kane isn’t even listed as a facility. I could choose Other, but I don’t feel it would be worth my time. Shame on you, UPMC Kane. There’s no excuse for not triaging, within 4 hours, a patient whom you accepted into your facility. I would have accepted a long wait given how busy they were, if I had been given some kind of attention even ONCE!

My husband fell at camp and injured his ankle. The X-rays didn’t show anything serious, but his provider, Adam Griffith, took his complaint seriously and ordered a CT of his ankle. The CT showed that his ankle was indeed broken. High praise to Dr Griffith for taking the time to look for the correct diagnosis! My husband’s orthopedic doctor in Pittsburgh also mentioned that Dr Griffith was on the ball!

I went in for a scheduled appointment today. Walked in and told the receptionist my name and why I was there. I was told to take a seat and someone would be out to get me in a minute. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes before going back to the window and asked if someone would be out to get me and they had no idea I was there. This was my second trip to Kane hospital I’m still receiving a bill from my first visit that my insurance and kane hospital says is paid. I will not be giving them $180 to be told I was having an allergic reaction when I walked in and told them I was having an allergic reaction.
