I can't say nothing but great things about U of U Health. I came here October 13th to receive my new kidney. From the moment I stepped foot into the hospital, I was taken care of. Every doctor, every nurse to every one else in between that helped me recover did a fabulous job. The ICU nurses were attentive and caring. My nurses on the regular floor gave me a little more independence and freedom. My transplant doctor, Dr. Bluff has set the bar high for any other specialty doctor that helps me in the future. She was fantastic! My nephrologist, Dr. Jweehan was amazing! When you're going through your healing process, you deal with multiple nephrologists. Dr. Jweehan was my only nephrologist from the beginning til the end. She was the kindest, most passionate, most caring doctor. I'm ha
The person who greeted me at the main door and walked me to where I could see the elevators was much appreciated. The person at the check in desk was friendly and competent. I waited less than 5 minutes to be taken to a room. The nurses were friendly and efficient. Dr. Robinson was friendly, thorough, and very professional. She answered all my questions (which could be awkward) in a straightforward non-judgmental way. She went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule for surgery. I left feeling extremely at ease with the plan that was put in place for my care.
Tyler and Dr. Kamel were amazing! Tyler was friendly and very good at his job. I immediately felt comfortable which confirmed my decision to come to the U of U. Dr. Kamel was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and Professional. He listened and gave me a plan to move forward with my health. He scheduled follow up so he could know how it was going with our plan. I felt he really cared about helping me resolve my health issue. I was very relieved and impressed. I drove 150 miles for this appointment and it was worth every mile!!! Thank you Dr. Kamel and Tyler.
This is my second experience with Dr. Hill. The first, in 2020, was to correct complications from two botched hysterectomy revision surgeries and an in‑office procedure that left me in constant pelvic pain for over ten months. By the time I saw her, I was exhausted, in immense pain, discouraged and could not trust my body due to the "all in your head" "it's only there because you're focusing on it" narrative I was receiving. I remember waking up from anesthesia completely pain‑free and beginning to sob. When she came in and asked what was wrong, I asked, "why doesn't it hurt?!" I assumed the surgery hadn’t happened yet and that I was just heavily medicated. She gently put her hand on my forehead and said, “It was never supposed to hurt.” That moment was deeply validating after months of s
I am 68 years old and physically active. I've only broken two bones during my lifetime. The first was my tailbone while shedding on too thin a layer of snow as a teenager. The second was my nose while wakesurfing about 10 years ago. But in 2018, my routine DEXA scan diagnosed me as having Osteopenia. Suddenly, a fear of falling during my activities became a concern. For 6 years, my Primary Care Physician tried to treat me, but my condition worsened until it became Osteoporosis. After another disappointing DEXA Scan in January 2024, my PCP finally suggested I see a specialist. I did my research and chose Dr. Karla Miller at the Univ. of Utah. Everything I read said it was difficult to be accepted as a patient by her, but I persisted with an application and got lucky. I had my first visit w
