I went here to get checked out for potential complications from surgery and because I was having palpitations and felt like I was going to feint. I told them from the moment I started with triage that I had had a hysterectomy just over two weeks prior (I do not have a uterus, cervix, or tubes) and I made sure every nurse and the doctor involved in my care knew that as part of why I was there. All they did was an ekg, a couple blood tests that were not relevant and even then were still clearly an issue, and a urine test to check to see if I was on drugs after the nurse was acting all smug during a neurological exam and did A LITERAL PREGNANCY TEST. I was referred to be seen by emergency medical staff following issues after blood test confirmed pregnancy but ultrasound resulted in documented cysts and no seen embryo. The physician on staff Wednesday evening was Dr. Luke Casey. Now I will give them this, I was a few days too early to get concrete answers and they did refer me to doctors that were extremely professional, fast acting, and took my symptoms seriously. On the other hand, while being processed I had attempted to fully explain the situation and symptoms several times to check-in staff, which was paraphrased in a way that reduced my situation essentially to an overly reactive newly pregnant woman. Incompetent triage, nurse who was rude and acted like I was a druggie to the point they did a drug test and (guess what?) found nothing, did a pregnancy test even though I told triage, all the nurses that came in there, AND the doctor that I’d already had a full hysterectomy and my tubes removed. Never addressed the issue and the entirety of their documentation is incorrect like they made everything up. Tell me you don’t listen or take your patients seriously without actually telling me.

Was up at the ER tonight. My friend passed away. The ER docs at Unity Point leave alot to be desired. They come off as smug . VERY cold. We had a nurse who was very nice. Didn't catch her name. She had dark hair and a little heavy set. Was there for us. Maybe the docs should take lessons from her. I was not impressed with this ER. Had my sister at Mercy ER a few months ago. Wonderful treatment there.

Came in for answers. Received zero. No explanation or suggestions for discharge. Did not address my concerns or pain. Would not recommend to anyone.
