UNC Health Johnston

Here for a MRI and instead of waiting in a actual lobby they bring you back to MRI department and seat you in a tiny DISGUSTING bathroom. She calmly says "have a seat in the small blue chair and I will go over your paperwork". My first reaction was to look up and all I see is a TOILET. I say to her "why do you have me in a bathroom"? She said "oh this is where we do are screening and have patients undress if needed". Remind you this MRI is of one knee, no contrast, no removal of any clothes. I then say"do you not have a actual waiting area, she replied NO WE DON'T. Ok so while I sit 15 min in a bathroom waiting I figured I would snap pictures for all to see how horrible this experience was. I was about to vomit it smelled so bad in here!!! Do NOT go to this nasty establishment! They do not care about their patients. Rooms are nasty as ever! And when u ask/mention it to them…. They just brush it off and be like umm ok. And don’t you dare question them after their response. They will treat u like you’re less than! It’s ridiculous. When this hospital was named Johnston memorial.. Everyone and their mom called it Johnston memories. Just bc they remodeled and changed the name… means nothing! If you’re sick or having problems… your best bet is wake med! I promise you that! I had a horrible experience with both the receptionist and my hospital visit. The receptionist placed me on hold for 10 minutes, then hung up on me. When I called back and informed her that I was recording the conversation, she hung up on me again. After being discharged from the ER I saw in MyChart that I tested positive for coronavirus. I immediately called back to see about getting medication called in. Now I’m being told that a nurse will call me on Monday to review the results. I explained that waiting until Monday will be too late for me to start medication that could help manage my symptoms effectively. Overall, I feel like I was charged a $500 copay and received no real assistance or timely care.

Got checked in to the hospital and was handed a cup to do a urine test, was told to use the bathroom in the patient lobby where everybody is waiting to get checked in, usually hospitals will have a patient bathroom to use. And told to knock on the door when I’m done. So I peed in the cup and went over and knocked on the door and this lady opened it and she looked at me holding the sample and said “oh no not me I’ll get someone”. So now I’m standing at the front reception next to where you get checked in HOLDING A CUP OF PISS! I looked over to the receptionist to try and get sone help because she never came back and she refused to help me. This happened today 1-08-2026 around 5:30. I am a TPN patient and had to go to ER for blood cultures, so I made the decision to try UNC Johnston, being it is a closer commute. I usually travel 1.5hrs to Hillsborough or Chapel Hill. I was admitted and should have a 6 day stay. I also have short gut which leaves me with an illiostomy and urostomy. Anyone with short gut knows you eat several small amounts of food a day because food passes through with no absorption causing frequent hunger. My point is the food & nutrition system here is a BIG zero! The manger over this needs to sincerely see how UNC Chapel hill and UNC Hillsborough food and nutrition operates and truly consider making changes for the patients. At UNC Johnston, they bring the food way too early leaving me starving til next meal. No way to retrieve food or microwave fo
