UMass Memorial Medical Center North Pavilion

This facility has been top notch so far. There are large single person rooms. The room includes a sofa bed that allows you to stay with your loved one if needed. Large handicapped accessible bathroom with shower. Large windows and camera security. The staff are polite, helpful, responsive and fast. Dialysis is available in the patient's own room. Two individual parking lots for the building at higher rates than the main UMass lots. Rooftop garden on the 4th floor, and a "mini marketplace" on the first floor including Starbucks© coffee, NOT open all day. They have an unusually high number of handicapped and EV charger parking spots for a place this size.

Top- notch doctors who rushed me in, performed series of tests and CT scans quickly and explained the results to me in an understandable way. Cleanest hospital in Worcester and competent professional care that is second to none.

My Elderly Mom received EXCELLENT care at UMass. She was in the hallway in the Emergency room as there were no beds available , but she received prompt labs, imaging, and measures to make her comfortable. She then had a new procedure that saved her life. It just became available and we feel blessed she was taken to UMass as other hospitals are not able to provide this endoscopic surgery yet. Her aftercare was again exceptional. Bravo UMass

I had a wonderful experience with the North Pavilion staff. All of the nurses were extremely kind and empathetic to my mother and father, whom I visited daily. In the 5-6 hours I was spending there each day, I saw nothing but the most professional behavior from all of the doctors and nurses present. My parents reported that they were treated with dignity and kindness, and checked on throughout the evening as well.The cleaning staff were also wonderful people who recognized me and said hello when they saw me. The rooms were clean and well maintained, not to mention comfortable for patients and guests alike.

The Nurse Supervisor is an absolute pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, the majority of the nursing staff are incredibly unprofessional and do not have the communication skills expected when working with terminally ill patients and their families. Would not recommend this location for any type of Hospice care unless you are willing to advocate for your family members care.
