I honestly don’t know where all these bad reviews are coming from because UF small animal hospital saved our dog’s life. We were referred up here from our vet in Orlando due to because our dog was diagnosed with a pneumothorax and required urgent medical care and subsequent surgery. From the moment we walked in until the day we brought him home, the staff and students were so kind, communicative and knew exactly what to do to treat our dog. We’d get daily calls from the doctor who would spend 30+ minutes talking us through the next day’s treatment plan and they were very transparent about estimated costs. Was it cheap? No, of course not. But I felt like they were honest with us the entire time and our dog got the best treatment possible; better than some humans get. I can’t thank the t

We were referred to UF after my PTSD service dog suddenly screamed in pain, thrashed around, and rapidly lost mobility. Within approximately four hours, he was paralyzed in his hind limbs. We went to 2 other vets before being directed to UF. Upon arrival, we were quoted $9,000 for an emergency spinal surgery, with 75% required upfront before evaluation or treatment would proceed. Under extreme distress and fearing for our dog’s life, we secured a loan and paid $6,785 immediately. He remained hospitalized for two days and received a CT scan and MRI. After these diagnostics, we were informed that surgery was not necessary. Instead, UF elected to keep him an additional day for oxygen monitoring. They also did a spinal tap, to rule out something. At discharge, we reasonably expected a parti

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the entire team who took care of my dog, Maya. We brought her to the ER one morning for IVDD, and by the end of the next day she already had her MRI and surgery done. From the start to the moment she was discharged, it was clear how much care and attention the doctors and students gave her. I especially want to thank her doctor, Melissa Narum, who performed Maya’s surgery and took such great care of her. Throughout the whole process, I received lots of updates and pictures from Dr. Narum and Sara, the student who was also part of this amazing team. They were always so helpful and thorough when answering my questions. I truly couldn’t have asked for better care. Thanks to them, Maya is now at home, doing great, and recovering well to soon be run

Where to start? UF small animal hospital saved our Ragdoll cat "Frank". I won't get into the details of the mis-guided care we had received prior to arriving at UF hospital, but once we arrived, they greeted us with warmth and understanding. The care Frank received from Dr. Karryssa Fendersen was beyond anything we have ever experienced. The staff at the hospital was amazing! Their aggressive and quick treatment of our Frank has put him in remission when other vets told us it was not possible. We can't thank Dr. Fendersen and Dr. Mott enough for their professionalism, frequent communication, compassion and love through out this very scary time.

I brought my bunny, Dusty, in with my boyfriend two weeks ago after he wasn't improving from GI stasis. The vet hospital kept us up to date and informed us of any procedure they had to do to Dusty. They were very compassionate and kind, but were straightforward about Dusty's condition (we were very much appreciative of this). Unfortunately, Dusty ended up passing away after having a seizure on Tuesday at 3 am. They did everything they could to keep him pain-free before he passed, and they allowed us to see him at 4 am to say goodbye to him. We also allowed them to perform an autopsy on him to hopefully save future bunnies. We got Dusty cremated and were able to get his ashes and his clay paw print that same week (Friday). I just checked the mail today (2 weeks later) and saw that they als
