UF Health Urgent Care - Flagler Hospital

I recently visited UF Health Urgent Care due to concerns I may have been developing early signs of pneumonia since I had a cold that was already going into week three and my lungs made a crackling sound whenver I exhaled. I first went to another clinic that Saturday morning, but they were still in negotiations with the USAA Hero PPO plan and informed me I was unable to see a docter until the details of their negotiations had been fully vetted. Not an issue, I went to UF Health Urgent Care and immediately found they do accept the USAA Hero PPO plan and was able to get checked in immediately. I visited UF Health Urgent Care for the first time and was impressed with the staff and facility. I was warmly greeted and waited for less than five minutes before being taken back. Rebecca, my nurse, was warm, cheerful, great to chat with, and incredibly professional. We shared a few laughs that made the visit feel like visiting a friend. PJ, the physician's assistant that treated me was very professional, knowledgeable, and experienced. He explained my options and the procedure in easy to understand terms. I was pleased that he took the time to do so because many doctors do not. From the front-desk person to the medical assistant to Dr. Joseph Zoppi to the check-out person - I was treated with kindness, compassion and respect. Dr. Zoppi was very knowledgeable and his treatment plan had me feeling better in no time. It is a great comfort to know we have urgent patient care access in our neighborhood! Great Staff of Medical professionals! This was my second visit, one month earlier, I saw Dr Owen, and a different staff on a Sunday. Wow! All great people, Professionals in every way! Thank you all!

If you have Florida Blue health insurance do not go here. The clinic is nice and doctors are great but billing is horrible. They do not bill Florida Blue as an urgent care visit instead they bill as “The Villages Regional Hospital”. You will get a bill for hundreds of dollars instead of the $35 co pay for urgent care visit. Their billing and customer service team is terrible to deal with and are unwilling to resolve their mistaken billing. Update 2/4/26: an email was sent on 1/13/26 with no response.
