UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital

Okay so no ER visits are superb imo. Upon entering the er here Cameron and Barbara were prompt and professional. The first thing they rule out is heart attack so if you go in with chest pain you will be ushered back to have an ekg. If your not back to the waiting rm you go. While the wait was approx four hrs, I was treated with care and compassion. Barbara was specifically kind and caring. Cameron was all business but was nice as well. I eventually went into a hall chair in the er room and was promptly seen by the nurse Patrick who I adored along with Christine attending PBR who immediately provided relief and told me that my issue was not due to my aortic aneurysm and that it was a digestive issue. She promptly dosed me with medication that Patrick administered that shortly brought relief

Had a mild surgery done and was impressed with the hospital staff and care. Nurse called about a week before to let me know the preparation steps. On surgery day, Pre-Op nurse was excellent, answered all questions and stayed nearby. Post op as well with various staff members was efficient and pleasant. Would give high marks with my experience

My family and I are incredibly impressed with the staff in the Critical Care Unit! Our Mom was diagnosed with cancer and pneumonia and rapidly failing. DAVID, her nurse, was professional and completely patient focused. He ensured that we knew exactly what the process would be for comfort care, as it was apparent mom only had a few days. DAVID was a true patient advocate, understanding exactly what we wanted and needed for Mom. He was very gentle with her, and even though she was unresponsive, he spoke to her like a human being and made sure she didn’t suffer. Mom‘s nurse YARI was there when Mom passed, and a great comfort to my brother in his panicked state. She actually came in and sat with him until he could pull himself together. This Hospital is so bad I wish I could give it a ZERO but that's not possible so I give it a ONE. Over the weekend I was instructed by my doctor that he was sending me to the ER immediately. I have never been to a hospital in FL so I went here seeing as it was close to my home, and I was scared and didn't know what was happening. I arrive around 5:30p and did observe it was busy. I understand being busy and it takes time to be seen. However what I don't understand is being in waiting room or in the outside main lobby with a IV needle in your arm and no communication what so ever. They have signs about how you shouldn't drink or use the bathroom until you talk to your nurse. At this point I didn't know, no one told me. The triage at this location is horrendous. I know it's popular to slam UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital (The Villages Regional Hospital). But I recently had an emergency surgery and I must say that it was a wonderful experience! I want to give huge kudos to Adam Santos of Santos Primary and Urgent Care. Adam treats every person with extra attention and always goes the extra mile. He called me after hours on his personal cellphone to inform me that I needed to report to the hospital immediately for emergency surgery. He then called ahead to the hospital to inform them of my situation. When I arrived, I was treated in as timely as possible fashion due to the volume of patients waiting to be seen. The staff was relaxed and friendly but very professional. Tech Hugo is a soccer player, and we got to tease each other about which one i
