UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital

Their billing company and staff lie to you you ask to get a quote they give you a quote they call you back and give you a quote and then they claim they never gave you a quote. They lie about their billing they double bill for example I had an office visit and my copay was $30 I paid it at the time of the visit a month later I get a bill in the mail and I also have a bill in my chart. There is a difference of $30 when I questioned the difference they told me they billed the insurance company for the entire thing that I asked again what was the difference of the $30 that you're Bill and me. They told me they build the insurance company for the entire thing including the co-pay that I had already paid and the insurance rejected it so they sent me the bill. I told them that I had already paid

I can not say enough good things about this hospital. I've had two stays with them. The first time, they saved my life. The second time, they gave me my life back. From doctors to the housekeepers, everybody is kind, caring, and professional. The nurses are exceptional. This is how a hospital should function. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and go here for my procedures. That should tell you something.

The PT's at Magnolia Park are great but the billing department at Shands is a real nightmare. I had PT there after my surgery in February and now, in November I'm still getting billed. You can't pay your copay at the time of your appointment. Evidently Shands can only bill for one appointment each month though you had 4 appointments a month. They send a notice that you are behind in your payments, you pay that balance only to get a bill the next month that you are behind. There are no notes telling you what the bill is for. To reach an actual person you will hold for ever until you are disconnected. If it's a teaching hospital the billing system needs to learn a better method. This method shows no respect for a patient.

I must say this hospital has really helped my dear love one. Since she has been here I have seen such an improvement over just a few days. She went in with kidney & liver failure. The dialysis have been helping clean her kidneys and she is just so much stronger than just 3 days ago. I visited with her and I must say her nurse Mikayla is so wonderful. She is truly the best! The way she cares and treated my love one including me is amazing. She takes time & patience and really makes my love one feel cared for.

In the emergency room my husband was on hold for 12 hours waiting to be attended to and they did not attend to him there were many people in very bad conditions and they did not attend to them it is a terrible hospital if you come to the emergency area they will let you die without taking care of you
