UF Health Eye Center - The Oaks

First I want to say that literally every person there that I have interacted with has been awesome. The professionalism of the Doctors and staff is top notch. The problem with this place is the same as every other Doctors office out there, they suck at scheduling. I have walked out on two occasions because I hadn't seen the Doctor yet after two hours of waiting. Know before you go, if you aren't the first appointment of the day then you better pack a lunch!

I love my daughter’s Doctor Dr. E, she’s the best Eye surgeon for me, very warm, kind, caring person. She treats us like very close friends. She looks for every solution that could best help my daughter. Always smile, makes us really very comfortable. She’s compassionate to her patients. Very professional, making sure her staffs are efficient and effective. We love Stewart her assistant too. We are treated very nicely. We felt special. Although not all of the staffs reflect the same vibe. There are bad banana in every basket. The place is clean, I never saw their toilets dirty. Very well maintained. We were here almost every two weeks during my daughter’s visit.

Dr. Yancy and the team were able to fit me for multi-focal toric contacts. I am from Colorado and couldn't find any docs there who fit multi-focal lenses with astigmatism. Dr. Yancy and the team were so thorough and knowledgeable. They explained everything to me; they took the time to make sure the lenses fit and the prescription was perfect. I am so happy with my new lenses and the care I received at UF Health Eye Center - The Oaks!

Don’t bother. If I could give negative stars I would. Have an eye issue that needs to be addressed timely? These are not your people. Need to get ahold of someone who will be interested in helping you? Try again, these people are not it. Unless you want to book something out 3+ months in advance and then find out they many not even accept your case/problem, don’t waste your time. No one here is enthusiastic to help you and the staff act like they have been blessed from above because they have a backlog of patients and can’t find a place for empathy.

When I came here to recieve a normal check-up for my eyes, I originally wanted to purchase some ortho-k lens. I was charged $40 for the checkup and an additional $125 for a lens fitting fee that did not happen. Lens fittings require the contact lens to be purchased and not only did I not try any on, I did not even see them ordered. When I called to understand the reasoning of the charge, they said that there was nothing they could do to refund that amount. I waited 2 months and they did not even send me an update for this matter. I do not believe that anyone should pay for a service unreceived. These actions are highly unprofessional and wrong.
