Customer Reviews
I saw several providers @ the Osher Center, for chronic joint pain. Everyone treated me very well. While they all did their very best, the totality of all treatments yielded zero benefits. I did not experience even the slightest relief, anywhere in my body.
I’ve been struggling for over a year with chronic fatigue and long COVID. After moving to S.F. from nyc this year I was delighted ucsf had an integrative medicine service. But since it’s impossible to access you might as well give up. I started calling in May and have consistently called to try to get an appointment be met with the rudest most awful health care staff I have ever encountered. Every call required a new hoop or bureaucratic step. A CA primary care, insurance, voicemails, no return calls, and straight up mean folks answering the phone. I gave up and tried to switch to sutter in Sept but frankly that’s no better. Basically san Fransisco has no integrative clinic. I’ve had to hack treatment plans together from a handful of different providers and go into debt. UCSF should be a
Do NOT go to this practice. Prior to my appointment, I called and checked with my insurance company and the practice billing department on the cost for acupuncture and was completely lied to about a $15 copay, only to be slapped with a $200 bill followed by a $500 bill for the intake appointment. This is because the practice bills for a “hospital visit” when it was just at a doctors office. In talking to insurance the takeaway is that this is a loophole the office does to take advantage of patients. When calling to work with billing, was met with rudeness and attitude. Spent hours trying to solve for this and extremely frustrated and disappointed that this practice would behave in such a way.
UPDATE 2025 Still highly recommend the essential modalities offered at this health center for optimal health and wellness. Helen and Jennifer are two of my favourites. My experience has been of receiving great deep healing for old and new injuries. The Staff is polite kind and helpful. I do lovingly recommend their services.
The doctors are great, but everything else is rough. It is extremely difficult to get an appointment here, and nearly impossible to get a call returned. Once you do have an appointment, made months in advance, there is a decent chance that the appointment will be cancelled at the last minute, leaving you to wait another three to four months to be seen. Customer service could be improved, is what I am saying.
