UCSF Dermatology Clinic at China Basin

Had a great Dermatologist appointment with Dr. Joanna Tu. Appointment started right on time, and she answered all the questions I had without anything feeling rushed.

As we all know, the American healthcare and insurance system is a mess. This is a review for the help received by Giselle and the care team today trying to navigate this mess. She was compassionate and worked hard to get me an appointment ASAP. Even though there were insurance hiccups along the way, she informed me of the best way to reach the care team to be seen ASAP. It's important to remember that the staff here is doing their best and a lot is out of our control as well as theirs. Thank you Giselle from the bottom of my heart for helping me today.

i had a 3:50 appointment it is now 4:56 and still no doc i will never use dr hamiel again same thing happened last time i had an appointment with her

Having a strict policy regarding late arrivals is understandable. However, threatening to cancel an appointment when a patient gives proper notice and arrives in time, does not look good when the Doctor is over an hour late while the patient waits in a gown in a cold room.....

I had a visit with a dermatologist here to find help with my hormonal acne. I saw the doctor for about 10 minutes and he told me to drink more water, stress less and change my birth control (didn't even prescribe the new birth control, he made me go to my gynecologist) and this office charged me over $800 for that! I was astonished and so sure it was billed incorrectly that I called their office and they assured me that it was indeed billed correctly. I can't even believe I paid that much for information I could have found on TikTok. Please find a private practice outside of UCSF for your health, I guarantee you'll pay less for better care.
