UCHealth Allergy and Immunology Clinic - Grandview

My initial visit with the office was great. Dr. Misiasz was very caring and attentive. It was all downhill after that. I was supposed to go back to do a food challenge. I had to reschedule 3 times! The last time was the final straw. They called and cancelled the morning of my appointment because the doctor took her leave early. Not sure why that is allowed when you have a patient scheduled, especially when they’ve been told to reschedule so many times. I understand things happen, but seriously? Also, I was informed that I’ll be put on a waitlist to get in “as early as fall.” Being a teacher, summer is really the only time I have for appointments. So that’ll be fun for scheduling.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Misiasz to diagnose a postpartum allergy (we didn't get to the food challenge, but that was COVID's fault and not hers). Recently, she was on leave, but Dr. Kader was incredibly helpful and patient. He not only explained what I needed to know practically (there's a trick to nasal sprays that no one mentioned to me in the 30 years before this that I've had allergies: spray toward your ear, not your brain). He also pulled up a diagram to explain why that technique works, and took extra time to answer my questions. I truly appreciated his skill as a physician and a teacher.

I saw Dr. Meaghan Misiasz, MD at UC Health Allergy and Immunization Clinic at Printer's Park to discuss having allergy testing for PCN, Sulfa, etc and found that she was very professional, caring, and listened carefully to my concerns and why I wanted to pursue the testing. She applauded me for being proactive in getting testing done and explained in detail how the testing would be completed. Office staff were kind, caring, and respectful. My only disappointment was that I had to wait a month for initial visit and 6 weeks to start the actual testing. I suspect this is due to Covid-19 and a lack of allergists in our region.

I literally just tried calling to schedule an appointment with this doctor because my girlfriend is having terrible allergy problems and this was the top doctor on the internet. Nowhere online does it state the doctor is on leave for another 2 months. From the reviews online she has been gone for over a month already. Why is this not apparent online? I understand things happen, but there was no explanation of why and I was told the earliest date we would be able to see the doctor was in October. Is there no other doctors that can help someone with allergies here? How does waiting 2 months help anyone out when they are currently having an issue? The receptionist on the phone was not helpful at all and I believe should have recommended a place that actually could help us in our time of need,
