U of U Health Sugar House Pharmacy

We love the U and it hurts me to give bad feedback. There is an operational drop between urgent care ( UC) finishing their job and the hand off to the pharmacy. One is usually told to wait for their script by UC but it is never communicated that one needs to check in with the pharmacy. A simple sign could solve this problem and communication from the UC. I called to report the issue and the pharmacist I spoke to was not willing to take the feedback in a positive manner. This pharmacy is much busier than the other pharmacies I have used at the U and more chaotic. i would advise picking up two blocks down at CVS or different locations closer to home. This pharmacy is beyond frustrating. It consistently takes 30–45 minutes just to pick up medications. The University built a huge, beautiful pharmacy to support its massive clinics, yet they short-staff it every single day. There’s always a line stretching across the entire lobby, and despite having 8 service windows, they only staff 1 pharmacy tech. That’s not an accident—that’s intentional understaffing. This puts both patients and staff at risk. Patients are forced to wait unreasonably long for essential medications, and the lone pharmacy tech is left under immense pressure to serve 20+ people while still maintaining accuracy and safety. I agree with the other comments about how insanely slow this pharmacy is. I came here to get some vaccines that I needed. It took them over 20 minutes just to put my info into the computer even though I'm a patient here. Then the wait was 30 minutes to get the shots when there was no one else in line for vaccines. Awful customer service.

This pharmacy is so efficient! I never have any issues and when I have questions, they answer them without any doubt or confusion. I appreciate the competency of this staff.

Pharmacists here are always kind and discrete about meds. There is ample parking, even when the lots are full, as there is parking very nearby in the shopping center.
