Tranquility Body Spa

I'm finally writing this review because I moved out of the area and was gatekeeping for fear of a crowd. This place is simply the best. You know how you can get your $200 massage at a fancy spa (they usually suck) or your $60 massage at a beloved spot off the beaten path? This was my beloved spot. They were always kind. I always got a really wonderful, intentional massage no matter who was doing it. They always checked up to ask how it was going. On my final visit before moving away, I had a thai massage with Alice, and WOW! She took the time to ask what was bothering me, and gave extra attention to that area. I love this neighborhood gem and hope they will continue to thrive!

After many years of trying out all the massage services in the Palms/Culver City area, I can honestly say that Tranquility has been the most consistent, cleanest, and high quality massage experience for the price. For anyone complaining about their tip suggestion, I happily pay that amount and more because I'm just grateful for the reassurance that I'm getting the massage I needed. When you ask for a HARD pressure, and a focus on particular areas, they deliver. Thank you, Jean, for taking care of my calves! 😭

Bad massage. I went in for the early bird special, my therapist was nice but clearly hadn't been professionally trained, she frequently massaged with repetitive pushing motions of hard pressure on bony areas of my body like my shins and spine. It was a painful experience and 3 days later I have pain throughout my body worse than what I came in to relieve plus bruises. A waste of $90 (plus the tip they watched me put in and told me to increase). I would not return. Honestly, I should have left when I walked in and saw the ceiling bars for foot walking. I'd prefer someone with a trained touch that can work on problem areas and not make them worse.

The massage is good. BUT, they tell you (more like, require from you) to leave $30-$40 tip on a 90-minute massage that costs $90. And they make you feel cheap, if you don’t. That is a 33% to 43% tip! Complete nonsense. Don’t do it. Send them, and others who over-reach like this, that this behavior is NOT OK!
