I recently was recommended metropolitan OB GYN, it was a plus that it had the ultrasound office on site. Total Sono is located inside the OB GYN office but in the basement. The first thing you can notice is the smell, it smells moldy and musty. It also looked empty. When I was sent down, there was nobody at the front desk. I had to walk inside and saw two technicians on their phones who didn’t even notice I was there until I loudly said hello!! Once they saw me, they didn’t even ask anything I said what I was sent to and they waved me in. At that moment I was seriously considering they don’t even speak English, however after I nervously joke a little one of them talked and I felt a little less confused. She took my blood and just because I was excited and happy she warmed up a little bit
Ms. Valerie, at the front desk is a breath of fresh air. My experience with Total Sono in general was pleasant and seamless.
I was really looking forward to my recent appointment at Total Sono. Being later in my pregnancy, I was so excited to finally see my baby on the screen again. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling upset and disappointed. I had called the day before to ask if my Doula—who is also my mom—could join my husband and me in the room. I was told it shouldn’t be a problem, but they would check with the tech. I called again the next morning to confirm, and they said it was fine. When we arrived, the tech wasn’t as warm or welcoming as I would have hoped, but we started the scan. My baby wasn’t cooperating with the positioning, and I could tell the tech was getting frustrated—she was breathing heavily and shook my stomach multiple times. At one point, I had to tell her she was hurting me. S
Waited 30 mins while the front desk lady tried to figure out registration (i just gave birth and had SEVERAL ultrasounds done already so im confused why i had to be registered when im already in the system). I offered to schedule an appt and come back and was insisted to stay and wait. 3 patients came in after me and left before me and I continued to wait even with two available rooms open and the tech laughing and chatting it up with an MA. I eventually had to leave to get my child from daycare which wasted almost an hour of my time.
I had the first ultrasound of my pregnancy here. I think the tech was Jennifer. I was so excited and this experience took the joy out of me. I had so many questions that went unanswered. It was impersonal and felt rushed. If I didn't ask questions I would have received no explanations. Not given or offered pictures. Was told it was unhealthy to attempt to listen to a baby's heartbeat at 6w 4days. Just sad.
