Total Sono, Llc

Quite plainly a scam. Went into my doctors office for a prenatal appt, was led to a room in the back to do an ultrasound, given paperwork to fill out and now being billed by total soon in addition to my prenatal appt with my OBGYN. Never did I make an appt with total sono or was notified there would be an additional charge to my doctors appt. Reporting to BBB

The visit experience itself was fine, but the business management/ finance department is horrendous. They have a phone answering service that makes it impossible to speak with someone directly - you must leave a message. They initially sent my medical records to my parent (we have the same name), which is a breach of HIPAA. They also submitted the claim through my insurance incorrectly resulting in a radiology exam that was not able to be processed by my insurance and then tried to charge me full price for an exam that should have been covered. The office has not been responsive to my calls / timely processing of the claim and has lied about taking care of the issue and follow up. I have had ongoing issues for over a year for this one test I have performed. Highly do not recommend.

The scan itself was fine. The tech I had felt the need to lie to me which is horrible and unnecessary. I knew I miscarried the day before just from the symptoms I had, but to have her tell me she heard a heart beat and saw movement gave me a tiny bit of hope, just so it could be stomped out by the doctor I saw 15 minutes later. Do not lie to people. I know it's not your place to give bad news but just omit.

Overall comfortable atmosphere. Need to contact them though? Forget about it..no one answers the phones. If you have a question? Well too bad cause no one answers the phone. My technician was very professional and made sure I felt comfortable. I just wish it was easier to communicate with this practice and get my questions answered more easily.
