Tidewater Neurology

The entire practice regardless of location is absolutely AWFUL. If it wasn’t for Meeka I would have left and found a new neurologist. The care isnt exceptional as Bolen doesn’t listen to his patients. He over talks or tries to predict what you’re about to say. Talks too fast and tries to speed through the appointment. If I’m paying out of pocket I want a provider who listens and takes there time with me and at least acts like they care. Thank God for Meeka, give her a raise!!!

The people that work there in the office part never never never never answer the phone or return calls i’ve tried to get my prescription filled for two weeks now this is February 17th they don’t explain anything to you take your money and they’re happy if you don’t pay then you’ll hear something from them then is it that how it works? Have a nice day.

Although I love Hughes and Kaitlyn, the office manager, Tina Green is awful here. I was overcharged $200 during my appointment in April, and I have been in contact with billing a recorded 5 times on their end, for them to tell me every time the office manager has yet to approve my refund that is due to me. I double checked with my insurance, and TideWater billing, and I’ve been confirmed that I’m due that refund. She refuses to answer any calls, and staff at TideWater have made it known she WILL NOT take personal calls or offer her personal email. I was advised to send a certified letter in the mail to get her attention, but that’s what I will do to get my money back. So, if you’re looking for great staff, they have, but on a management end, Tina will definitely disappoint you.

Dr Bowman was pretty thorough and for a Neurologist has a pretty decent bedside manner but the front office needs a lot of work in customer service. Getting someone to call you back from their automated phone system is like pulling teeth. I tried calling the direct extension for the manager after she provided it during a visit and even after leaving multiple messages over the course of two weeks I never received a call back. I left messages on the other lines and nothing as well. I cancelled my pending visit via the text system and no response on that one either. It’s like they don’t want business or something, so strange.

The hypocrisy of this facility is bewildering. They charge a no-show fee of $50. Which, I personally understand. However, you yourself will get no-showed on. I have been told within 30 minutes of my appointment that the doctor will not be in that day and have seen many others show up to their appointment just to be told that their doctor is also not in. I myself and others have had to wait LONG after their appointment time to be seen. It is not fair to create standards for patients that staff cannot reach themselves. Not to mention that this is a NEUROlogy facility. Meaning, most of the patients truly need help and are scared! It can be scary and disappointing to be cancelled on and consequently be even further out from answers/help. Out of all specialties, I would hope neurology did a bet
