We came into feeding therapy feeling both overwhelmed and defeated. Our 3-year-old son has significant sensory challenges and a very limited list of safe foods, and mealtimes had become stressful for our family. Then we started working with Emily and things began to shift. Emily has a remarkable way of making our son feel understood and safe. She never pushes him beyond what he can handle, yet she inspires him to be brave. She brings so much joy and creativity into feeding — from taking “dinosaur bites” and “bat bites” to turning cheese and snacks into golf carts and golf balls to match his interests. We could not be more appreciative of Emily through Thrive of New England for helping us navigate our son’s tongue tie. Emily is knowledgeable, professional, and kind. She was able to explain his tongue tie and how it impacts him currently and the potential future impact it could have on him as well. She thoughtfully came up with daily exercises and stretches that will benefit our son during his tongue tie procedure and lead to a smoother recovery. She always made herself available when questions came up throughout the entire process. There aren’t enough words to describe how much we LOVED our experience working with Emily!
