The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy

I've been using this pharmacy for 6 years. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Don't be surprised if they recognize you after a few visits. They might get busy at times, but generally 15 minutes is a long wait. I've lived in Oxnard and Santa Paula but I never stopped coming here, it's worth it.

I cannot give this pharmacy a low enough rating. The pharmacist is rude. The staff is incompetent. Their prices are more expensive than any other pharmacy in town. Unfortunately 3 years ago my insurance changed, it is an exceedingly bad insurance and the only pharmacy in town that would take it was Medicine Shoppe so I was stuck using them. Luckily a new pharmacy now takes my insurance and I can switch pharmacies. But to give you an idea, I have 10 prescriptions that I fill every month, I have only had 2 of them change in over 15 years. And Medicine Shoppe was not able to complete a single refill request in 3 years without getting it wrong. The same order every month and every month it was wrong. I never had to make less than 2 trips and usually had to make at least 3 trips down there ever

The Medicine Shoppe is so amazing and patient with me. I am a new client and a senior on top of that and have had nothing but delicious experiences with them....they know my name when I call...how personal is that? I call and get “hi Joy how can I help you? I am instantly at ease. The only request from me is the lids....my hands are old and weak and it’s hard to open the Rx container on occasions. If you ever need a hug....that’s where you need to go. Maybe I should just go in and get a huge hug from Jill and watch her smile. She brightens anyone’s day.

Wow! I just called the pharmacy to ask if they have a certain medication in stock ( that was NOT a controlled substance or anything of the sort, which should not not matter anyway) and the person who answered their phones rudely responded with “NO WE DO DONT HAVE THOSE DRUGS BYEE” and hung up on me!
