The Highlands

My father inlaw is there and he has literally only spent less than 24 hours in 4 or 5 days. He has spent most of his time at the hospital. The day he was transferred there I tried to call and staff was rude when I ask about my father inlaw whom I care for at home. The staff is very slow, the facility as he says is not clean and its gross. I did not know my father inlaw was being rushed to the emergency room until I got a message saying they changed his living information and phone number on his my chart. I tried to call and find out what in the world is going on and I absolutely got no where. No one could give me information and im his Healthcare proxy. I called the hospital and they were helpful. I do not recommend The Highlands to no one

The woman at the desk was very welcoming and helped me check in and find my friend's room. The nursing staff on the 4th floor were very helpful also whenever I needed anything. Thank you very much . Everything is nice and clean.

The Highlands recently cared for my father. His stay was in Hospice and although only there a brief time, the entire staff could not have been kinder. They were so attentive to his needs as well as ours. All we could hope for in providing a comfortable and peaceful passing for my dear Dad. Thank you all so much for your care and understanding at a really difficult time.

The Highlands is in a lovely setting, with a friendly, bustling staff . My husband had just arrived there, and I could see the CNA’s and social workers scurrying around to determine his comfort level and needs, coming up with pain meds and a walker almost as soon as he arrived. However, as time went on, my husband fell twice in the bathroom injuring his head badly enough to need hospitalization. We ended up withdrawing him from the rehab program.

This facility is excellent. The building is clean and neat, the availablity of activities great, and the care and consideration from every staff member has been great.
