The Helix Pet Hospital

I was referred here by a close friend. I know how much he cares for his animals, so I figured the care had to be good. This will be my first time writing a public review (good or bad) I just don’t do it. However, I could not be happier with the service. Everyone appeared to be happy to be at work. In my opinion, you can’t pretend happiness. Everyone was so kind. It was at closing time, nothing was rushed, everything was explained throughly. There was no up sales. There were options. The doctor told me my dog would be back to his normal self in 24 to 48 hours. He was back to his normal self in less than 24 hours. We felt like all the staff was very welcoming and accommodating of our dog, who can be very nervous in new places. We felt the visit was comprehensive and we were not rushed at all. Dr. Lorber was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and we felt at ease with him (and so did our dog!). We got questions answered about her diet and recommendations/encouragement about behavioral interventions we’re trying to make. We’re looking forward to continuing to bring our dog and we trust her care to the Helix Pet Hospital team!

Amazing treatment and professional care. Lately, we've found that vets tend to be corporate owned and do not offer the quality of care and professional treatment we want for our pets. Helix is privately owned and exactly the level of care we expect for our canines. They took their time, did not attempt to over-treat, and explained everything thoroughly. I have been coming here for years. I dropped them a Yelp review a few years ago, but who uses Yelp anymore? 🤭 Dr. Lorber is so great and always balances great care with what you can afford and never makes you feel like a subhuman for being broke and just trying to do the best that you can do for your fur children. He doesn't prey on panic and desperation. He definitely goes over all of your potential options and lets you make the best decision for your family. Pricing is very transparent. Thanks Dr. Lorber. I love you guys so much!! Glad to be back in the SD area. I missed your office so much. You have always been so great to us. 🫶🏻

Staff were calm, friendly, competent, polite, seemed to work well together without any signs of friction. All appeared to love and respect animals for themselves, and went out of their way to help my nervous cat relax. The blood and urine tests that were run for him came back with surprisingly good results, and I received a full report on them the next day. This was my first visit. I certainly plan to bring both my cats in to this clinic.
