I tried this dental practice for a year. The positive is it is easy to get appointments and staff is friendly. The main reason I tried this practice was the flexibility of appointments., That said I have experienced several red flags. During my year both the hygienist and dentist turned over. I also find it strange that you can’t find any info about the dentists on the website which suggests that the turnover is common or these are potentially contract dentists. It also appears there is a push for more aggressive treatment and add on recommendations. My first visit everything was fine, my next exam I was told I needed multiple treatments including Invisalign which seemed very excessive. I had such a great experience at Playa Dentistry! I went in for a cleaning and Anabelle was amazing — very kind, patient, and explained everything clearly. She cleaned my teeth so well and made me feel very comfortable the entire time. The doctor was also super nice and professional. The whole visit was smooth and pleasant. I highly recommend this office!

I had a 6 hour triple root canal, during a break I asked to get up and use the bathroom. Dr Hector (who wasn’t working on me) groaned “ughhhh No!” from the other room next to me. I love a sense of humor but I just had 3 root canals done. I looked to the staff next to me puzzled. “What? That’s not funny. I just spent $15k on a smile makeover, I AM going to use the restroom” No he’s just joking! “yeah, that’s not funny to me” I replied. Guess what Hector shouted back? “Nope! You’re gonna have to spend $16K before you can use that” He didn’t perform or assist on my 3 root canals + veneer prep today. I’m easy going, I’m not expecting a red carpet treatment. Kelly is the best dental hygienist! I have bad dental anxiety and sensitive teeth, so the dentist isn't my favorite place. The hygienist I had before seemed to not care about this and I really didn’t enjoy going to her. However, Kelly is great and cares a lot about the patients. She always make sure I’m not in pain and comfortable. Ever since I had her my experience here has been a lot better. In the past, the other hygienist didn’t seem to care and seem kind of annoyed. Also, the noise canceling headphones were never an option or didn’t work. And the quote for wisdom teeth removal (awake) was more expensive than the surgeon who used anesthesia so that is strange. Some things about here seem off but overall my experience has been good and has improved.

This was my first visit, and I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes before being seen. I arrived 30 minutes early to complete paperwork, then waited another 75 minutes. No one addressed the delay until I asked, at which point I was told they were short-staffed. Other patients in the waiting room mentioned this is common on weekends (though I can’t confirm). Once I was taken back, it still took some time before the dentist came in. He spoke with me for less than 3 minutes and then left. When I had a follow-up question, we couldn’t reach him and was told it would be addressed at my next visit in six months, which was frustrating.
