Terrace of Delray Beach

My 80 y/o mom was hospitalized after a UTI. She couldn’t walk and needed help getting out of bed. After a week at Delray Medical Center she was improved enough to be discharged to Terrace of Delray. Each day she would deteriorate a little more. She was not eating without help. They did not help her eat. She ate very little each day. After 5 days she was found contracted in bed. She was almost completely unresponsive. I complained to the floor nurse. The doctor was not on site to see her. He advised treatment to the nurse based upon the nurses description of her condition over the phone. When I insisted she be transferred back to the hospital, the nurse was completely unfriendly towards me. I am sharing the experience as a spouse of a patient. Social Workers Lisa and Lauren did a phenomenal job of apprising my daughter and myself of the rules and of medical assistance for the patient as well as helping us to understand the provisions of his medical insurance. Lisa called on many occasions to update me on what is taking place with the patient’s treatment. I had forgotten to put name tags on the clothing I brought there and was concerned that they were lost. Lisa escorted me to talk to the laundry manager who allayed my fears and the patient’s laundered clothing were returned to his room! The ladies at the front desk were always welcoming and it was a pleasure visiting! Parking was my only dilemma but I eventually figured it out! Thank you very much to the nurses and the variou

I’d like to give zero stars! This place was absolutely horrific! It was dirty. The help was nasty including the woman that was “ head nurse” First of all, my dad is a diabetic and they fed him waffles with syrup. They fed him pizza when I questioned it to the woman that was bringing him the food. She yelled at me that she’s a diabetic and she can eat that stuff! When my dad finally came home, his insulin and his blood sugar was off the rails, they also did not give him his insulin the first couple of days because they couldn’t get it they said. And to bring it in from home. I did bring the insulin to them the next morning and she said no they couldn’t keep it there because it wasn’t from their pharmacy! My mom and I are so blessed beyond words with Terrace of Delray Beach. Their administrative staff, doctors, nursing staff, and aides, are all very caring and attentive to my Mom’s needs and healthcare. I have such peace of mind knowing my Mom is being cared for and is in good hands when I can’t be there for her. Special shout out and a HUGE thanks to the Wound Nurse Clara, and her Student CJ, the other nurses Angie, Sandy, Snow, & Greg, the aides Jeann and Antony, the Activity Director Natasha and her aide!! I’m very thankful for the care my family member receives at Terrace of Delray Nursing facility. The administration are very professional and kind as well as the rest of their staff. I would recommend this nursing home.
