Tennessee State Veterans' Home

My father has been here for a year and it is the NICEST facility I've personally seen. The staff are helpful and attentive to the residents. . They saved my father's life. I can't say enough good about them

Came here to perform for our Hula Club. It seems like a very spacious place, inside and out. It is actually named Tennessee State Veterans Home. (I noticed that there's no photo of this place, so, I took some)

Even though this facility receives a lot of 5 star reviews in my opinion this is over rated. Reason for this is because my spouse was there recently and the care for her was not that great. here is a list of reasons why: reason one when she first arrived on the 9th of July i went in on the 10th and asked how long tri care and Medicare would pay for her care. I was advised she was good until the 22nd of September. what they do not tell you is that this is only good as long as she is in some type of therapy. if and when she is discharged from therapy the individual has to pick up the cost not covered by Medicare. This is deception number one. Deception number two happened when there was a meeting in the conference room and I was advised by the social service worked that I would be introduced

If you care about your family member, do NOT send them here! If you don't allow them to "medicate" for dementia, by medicate I mean basically sedate them to a point they cant feed themselves, they will make EVERYTHING you try to do difficult. If the doctor orders a medication, and they dont like it, they LIE and make up something that won't allow the VETERAN to have that medication. Now they want to put a dementia patient on Ativan, which is NOT good for someone with dementia. They are just horrible people that only care about things to help themselves, NOT the Veteran.

I have been there on many occasions to visit friends. The staff is always most helpful. It is a peaceful and very clean environment. I would like to thank everyone who is involved in making this work. I am glad to have this as part of my community.
