I’m getting serious scam vibes from this company. I initially gave Tend a try for a cleaning and loved the experience — I even raved about it to others. I was also excited to finally take the next step in my oral health journey and straighten my teeth for the first time. So last December, when they were running a great deal on aligners, I decided to go for it. I set up a payment plan through their credit option and even put a portion of my FSA toward it. Nearly three months later, I have YET to receive my aligners and I’m starting to panic. The problems started early. When I tried to switch my care to a location closer to home, it was an absolute nightmare — the staff was no help whatsoever, and I was only able to make it happen by forcing it through the automated appointment system in the

I felt very well cared for at Tend Dental. They prioritized offering explanations and answering questions. They fit me in for a cavity filling the same day as my cleaning because they knew I was short on time. I was checked in on regularly, and being able to watch TV during the filling made the process feel quicker and more comfortable. Highly recommend. Some recommended procedures were expensive and not covered by insurance, but they made sure I spoke with a financial consultant so I understood the costs and could decline anything without pressure.

I've come to this dentistry for years. I was familiar with it already, having come from New York myself. Since moving to the DC area, I've either switched dental practices altogether or have had different dentists at the same practice, so I've often experienced different approaches to my dental care. I've always liked Tend. On a more recent visit, I was cared for by Raul and Dr. Thuntarug who were patient with me during my appointment. I got updated X-rays before a cleaning. When explaining my X-rays, Dr. Thuntarug described what she saw in great detail and in ways that were illuminating for me. What I appreciated most was the fact that she described very specific dental circumstances that tend to be common dental-genetic traits among Black and Brown patients'. The fact that she explained

They lied to me about having cavities. Three of them. I went to Tend’s Capitol Hill location after moving to DC because the ads made it look modern and trustworthy. Huge mistake. Six months earlier, I had a clean bill of health from my longtime dentist in North Carolina. Perfect dental history. Never had a cavity in my life. At Tend, they immediately upsold me on an “inflammation cleaning” that cost several hundred dollars. Then the dentist told me I had THREE cavities and tried to charge me $1,700 upfront to fill them. I said no. A few weeks later, I went back to my trusted dentist in North Carolina and told them I needed three cavities filled. After a full exam—and a second check—she said: “You don’t have a single cavity.” I was sent home without a single procedure. That was over a

Love the Capitol Hill location. Very kind staff. Special appreciation to Carmen. A great Hygienist who went the extra mile to make sure my 88yo mother was comfortable and had a great appointment.
