Tampa General Hospital Emergency Room

It’s been 3 days and my dad (who had 2 strokes in the waiting room) has not been given a room. In fact, they put hi. In the hallway and keep saying the hospital is full. I flew down here and have active cancer and chemo. I expressed my health is compromised and I’m wearing the old school appropriate mask but it seems like they can’t or don’t want to move him into a regular room . He has diabetes, 2 strokes, and NPH. I have never seen anything like this. Weeks ago I tried to make an appointment with the neurologist and the call center said that it’s easier if we just take him into the ER. Nothing has been done and we are 72 hours and counting.

I was sin a car accident with my head split open. Sat in the ER waiting room with a neck brace and my head wrapped looking stupid for almost an hour and than once i was in the room had to wait 2 HOURS! I was in a room HURTING in pain from my head and neck and all they gave me was an ice pack until finally the nurse came in and had attitude after I told her I had been waiting for a while with my head split open and she just said “ we’re busy “ like I know that but HELLO my head was split open and bleeding I should have been a priority. they sucked I dont think they gave me the care I deserved at all. seems like everyone they were nice to was white. the front desk girl was rude as hell nasty attitude overall BAD experience I should have just let the ambulance drive the extra 5 min to advent

Just over 1 year ago, I gave this place 5 stars. Sadly, in October, my husband was there again, and it was horrible! They were bursting at the seems with patients. After surgery he spent 3 days in recovery room because there wasn't a bed. Zero communication, even when I called the nurse, said I'll all you back. Nope. I especially wanted to know why and what surgery was performed because it wasn't the o e I signed consent for. I honestly thought back then we'll maybe the snow birds coming down they're over crowded. I took him back down 2 weeks ago and same thing. Overcrowding in ER hallway for 2 days then right to surgery. So much trash all over the floors there. Even blood spots o. The tile floor. The stretcher bringing him to surgery ran over something and the transporter said what was t

At the moment my husband is still waiting. He was seen yesterday (came in at 730 am) and recommended to stay for another test today. That was done at 730am but here it is 4pm, they want to do more tests but nothing is happening. And he is in a chair in the ER hallway. At this point has requested to just be released, nurse says a msg has been sent to the Dr but still nothing. Feels like totally trying to milk insurance. Will not ever return!!

This is what you can expect for your ER visit. You will not receive a room unless you are literally dying. Instead you will be put in a gurney in a hallway with 1 plastic chair (picture attached). Every hallway was lined with gurneys that patients has spent days on waiting for a room even though they had serious injuries. The reclining chairs they used to give to your visitor are also being used as make shift rooms. Good luck trying to get some rest between the snoring, nurses walking up and down, pushing equipment down the hallway, doctors running tests and doing consultations you will be lucky to get 1 hour of sleep. If your loved one decides to stay the night with you they will be provided a plastic chair to sleep in. Also they run out of pillows, blankets and socks. HIPAA does not exis
