Tabeling Richard OD

I have been an established patient of Dr Tabeling for years, atleast 10 years. He has always taken care of me for contacts, glass eye exams and emergency appointment when my Doberman scratched my eye. When I had insurance and when I don't, I get a fast appointment usually within a day of calling. We talk about new things in life and laugh with each other. I DREAD the day he retires!!

I do not recommend going here. If you’re able to wait you can go to Costco for the same price. I had some concerns about my eyes and the doctor wasn’t thorough at all. He dilated my eyes and checked them immediately. When I went to previous eye doctors they would always have me wait 15-30 minutes before doing the exam. I felt rushed and that he wasn’t considering my concerns. Please don’t waste your time or money. I felt like he rushed to get me out so he could get to the next person waiting.

I sent my 18 year old daughter in by herself to get an exam for glasses only. It was supposed to be around $80. She specifically told them she was only there to see if her prescription changed (which it hadn't) and that she didn't need contacts. When she got home, I realized that she was charged $150. I called and found out that it was because they "fitted" her for contacts, even though she doesn't need any. I tried to call and was basically told that I'm stuck paying for it even though it wasn't something we needed.

If no stars were an option that's what I would give them. I went in with a contact stuck in my eye. Lady asked for my insurance but then told me they can't take it because it was Saturday. She said I had to pay out of pocket. I said fine. There was no one in the office but the Dr, the lady behind the desk and myself. The Dr walked by me several times and never once asked to help me. They spoke between each other several times about how I would pay. They showed no concern about my eye issue and the last time they spoke it was directly in front of me and he asked her his is he going to pay. I lost it at that point and gave them a piece of my mind and left.

Dr. Richard Tabeling has been nothing but fantastic with and for me. I like the staff too. They're all friendly there and the wait time is usually under 20 mins with several ppl waiting. I have to go every few months for hairs that grow into my eye that I cannot see without high magnification, so he painlessly removes them and from beginning to end it takes him less than 10 mins. I'd recommend him in spite of the negative reviews. This day and age seems more ppl are overly sensitive and expect to be cradled and cared for as if they're the only ppl in the world. He does a gr8 job and what Dr or business doesn't expect payment? If it's an insurance issue take it up with your insurance company not the staff! Just saying. I'll be going to see him today in fact and always look forward to it.
