tldr: Incompetent and unprofessional front desk Anbrer W. They botched my insurance, forced me to pay hundreds of dollars for services that were fully covered, and showed zero accountability. Completely unacceptable. During check-in, the front desk staff Anbrer W was dismissive and unhelpful when verifying my insurance. I was told that my insurance did not cover certain services and was asked to pay several hundred dollars on the spot, with no clear explanation and no attempt to double-check. The interaction felt rushed and transactional, as if questioning the charge was an inconvenience. After the visit, I contacted my insurance company directly and confirmed that the services were fully covered under my plan. I had a very disappointing experience with Sutter Health. The hospital charges were extremely high for routine annual blood work, and the TB test was also billed at an excessive rate. I contacted their billing department several times to discuss the charges, but they refused to make any adjustments. Additionally, they provided an incorrect medical billing code for the blood work, which created further complications. I strongly recommend asking for the exact medical billing codes before any lab work is performed and confirming with your insurance provider whether those codes are covered under your plan. Otherwise, you may end up facing unexpectedly high out-of-pocket expenses.

This place has slowly but surely degraded in terms of service and availability of specialists. Ever since Sutter took over PAMF, there is a minimum of 2 month wait to see any specialists. Not sure how other folks deal with type of availability, but this is just terrible. Unfortunately, there aren't very many alternatives available.

Upon signing in, I was asked to sign a waiver stating that I would be charged an additional fee if I brought up any issues outside of the scope of my assigned appointment. The fact that patients can no longer voice additional health concerns and have an open conversation with their doctor is dehumanizing. I no longer feel like I am being seen as a person at this medical establishment. It’s also takes a staggeringly long amount of time to get a follow up appointment if a health issue arises.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences coming here, every single person on staff is so incredibly kind! I would recommend parking a little farther away or ask somebody to drop you off and pick you up.
