Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center

I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. They are understaffed constantly so your loved ones don't get the care they deserve. The place isn't sanitary. It smells of urine terribly. There isn't any communication. You have to constantly tell the people working there what your loved one can and cannot do. They have no idea what is going on with people. They give you a menu and they still give you the wrong meal. This is a minor problem unless you have medical problems and cannot eat certain things. The only thing that I can say is good is the physical therapy. Other than that I feel sorry for the people there. They deserve better.

Do not send your loved ones to this facility, they will neglect and continue to do so! They should be rated 1 start and shut down. Your loved ones are not being taken care of, don't let the inside or their talk fool you they accept anyone and hire anyone!

Horrible place! My husband was sent here post covid after spending 10 days in hospital . He also has Parkinson’s disease so he is prone to falls . My daughter got a call 6 hours after he arrived there … he fell out of bed ( a cot more like it) there were no rails to keep him from falling out of the bed , he had a bright yellow wristband on that says FALL RISK mind you . She was told they got him back in bed and placed a mat on the side of bed on the floor . Just one side 🤯 It was after 10 pm and we were assured he was ok . The next day we drove up there to check on him . I was livid ! The nurses were chit chatting behind the counter , not acknowledging me at all ! I had to interrupt their convo and ask which room he was in . By then I just walked there by myself and saw my husband lying

Love this nursing home! Mom had Alzheimer’s and is in the memory care unit. They always communicate with us whenever there is an issue. They know how dementia patients are and how to handle them. Room is pretty clean and she’s gained some weight from the food. She seems happy there.

My mother has been a resident at Susquehanna Health and Wellness for nearly five years. Watching a loved one decline is never easy, but throughout this journey, I’ve found immense comfort and gratitude thanks to the dedicated staff who care for her so well. Yes, the building may show its age, but I truly believe everyone there is doing their best with what they have, and their efforts shine through. Communication, especially in situations like a fall, has been outstanding. It’s incredibly reassuring to know she’s in the hands of people who are attentive and responsive. When we take her outside, it's heartwarming to hear staff greet her by name. The fact that we can drop in unannounced and always find her clean, dressed in regular clothes, and looking well cared for speaks volumes. Sadly,
