Be aware just checking in counts as a visit and you will be charged. I paid $140 *with a 40% discount for paying same day* to check in and be in a room with a Dr. for 5 minutes, and he wouldn’t even look at my issue, just gave me the name of a dermatologist. The front desk knew everything about my issue when I checked in, but still let me wait an hour and be seen even though they couldn’t provide care. Most of the time Dr Chad Wasden was in the room was him harping on me for not having insurance and letting me know lots of people work jobs they hate just to get coverage. I had already told him my situation with insurance, he’s getting paid either way and it’s definitely not what I want to hear when you’re charging me to hear you talk.

I thought Straub Urgent Care in Kahala provided professional good care, compassion, helpful, etc. I was wrong. The representative staff people that I spoke kept informing they will call back or the referral have been processed and they should be calling you was untrue. No response just waiting for nothing. On top of this notes on my record was incomplete what I had discussed with the doctor. The doctor was nice and professional but the representative staff I last spoke to was clearly not being helpful and will not listen and kept repeating herself. To validate or confirm my situation I called my insurance provider and informed me Straub urgent care Kahala could have provided you with a MRI referral because X-ray will only show bones and it is covered. Then I can follow up with my PCP. Poo

I just recently took my adult daughter to be seen. We thought she had strep. The staff was corteous, professional, and competent. They went out of their way to take care of us. They ran a test for flu and one for strep throat. Both negative. The doctor was spot on in his assessment. She bounced back in 2 days. It's reassuring to know my family has medical, care, close by without a trip to the ER or waiting on my PCP. Thanks guys

Warning to veterans… Straub will charge you even if the VA is supposed to pay them, and after telling Straub billing dept multiple times that they need to call Tricare and tell Tricare to pass uncovered expenses to the VA, they’ll still neglect to simply say that to Tricare, will blindly take Tricare’s residual charges, and will lazily pass them on to you. This isn’t a Tricare or VA issue… both have told me I owe nothing and that Straub has to call Tricare and simply tell them to pass the uncovered expenses to the VA. But Straub can’t handle that. Then, they’ll not answer the phone on weekends, and they’ll ignore voicemails you leave… they’ll just keep mailing you bills, then send you to Collections and wreck your credit. Best of luck with these folks.

Went to get my post-laparoscopic surgery staples removed during a visit to Hawaii. Very disappointed with the arrogance of and treatment by Dr Masden. Rather than focus on patient (me) wellbeing and the issue at hand, he was preoccupied with the fact that my surgeon in Europe let me travel and have someone else remove the staples - which is a very standard and non-complicated procedure. Furthermore, he did not clean or disinfect the incision areas before or after removing the staples, which is basic. And finally, he refused to answer my simple question about how to take care of the incision areas afterwards: he just sarcastically said each time I asked (a few times): “what did your surgeon tell you?” Amazing. On a more positive note, the staff out front were friendly and helpful. But
