Stony Brook Southampton Hospital

Honestly, with all the money Stony Brook makes they should really have a more advanced hospital. I gave birth to my son here a couple of weeks ago and still have mixed feelings about it all. In labor and delivery, the nurses were amazing. I couldn’t have done it without Sam and Kasey!!!! They were so uplifting, positive and stuck by me each step of the way throughout my entire birth process. Forever grateful for those women because they kept me feeling positive and at ease. Once we got to the postpartum area, you could see the shift and feel the difference in energy. The rooms reminded me of the 90’s, super small. They give this basic chair for your partner to sleep on. The department of wound healing was highly recommended by a physician and nurse supervisor friend. Dr. Gill & staff have my highest evaluation. Dr.G is highly trained, quite brilliant & personable to boot. Dr. Gill's memory and CARING is highly lauded. His lymphedema therapist, Tara, was a godsend. With appreciation....Dr. Norman G. Bartner

Had my son here , Great experience , great with the baby . And awesome bed side manners for my baby mother . Amanda was our nurse and I can't say enough how grateful we are for how good she was . Anyone I met from the resident doctors to the doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing! I had some liver issues. They immediately did MRI CT scan, lung x-ray, and took amazing care of me . Thank you!

Extremely slow service in the lab. The front desk staff spent more time chatting with each other about clients than assisting the patients who were waiting. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable to listen to. I hope management can establish stronger standards for professionalism, because patients deserve timely service and a respectful, confidential environment. DONT BOTHER MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. APPOINTMENTS DONT MATTER!!!! Even if you’re 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time, if the room is full you’ll be the last person to get work done.
