I would be embarrassed if I was in charge of a children’s hospital that couldn’t insert an IV in a 16 month old. Baby went in for seizures and fell sick overnight. No real leadership present, no care for patient. We were told EEG showing asymmetric patterns on right side of brain. After 24-hours they came back and said it was miss firing and everything is normal. Dr. Chitkara - you left after rounds without even checking on my son’s case. He was throwing up. FYl your so called pediatric team who has “done many eegs on children” wrapped it so tight my son’s ears are still red and enlarged. Your team has no idea what they are doing and certainly shouldn't be helping children. One last thing the third person who tried to put an IV in my son ripped off his band aid. How lucky are we to have a pediatric ER staffed with a medical team available to assess and care for our children when the rest of the world is sleeping? Grateful for the care provided. Emergency visits are going to be long either because your baby is stable enough to wait or sick enough to have to be admitted. Thank you Stony Brook for your good work.

I am totally relieved and happy to have taken our daughter to this pediatric ER hospital. It makes a difference of a hospital making an impact on a child especially when they are in pain and scared. That first impression means everything because you don’t get a second chance on a 1st impression. Everything went swiftly. Friday between 12PM &5PM Parking our car to elevate the stress of what to do with our car was taken care of was such a huge relief, being directed in which door to use for Pediatrics, signing in it all went smoothly for our 11 year old daughter. Thank you so much In the Stonybrook Pediatric ER DEPARTMENT Nurse Nick & Nurse Jackee my daughter has emphasized again and again how they made her feel comfortable, important and not worried. What a beautiful location! The lobby is so colorful and welcoming. The staff is incredibly friendly! The rooms are beautiful, and the nurses go above and beyond!

I deleted my initial review to provide this update. I had a complaint about a department. I called patient advocacy. Christina listened to my concerns, addressed them appropriately and provided me with updates. I recommend going to patient advocacy first, if you are not happy with the care or a provider.
