Stone Light Retreat Center

This place is magical! We stayed two nights, but wish we could have stayed several more. Although the weather outside was chilly, the heater inside the cabin kept us warm and cozy. We also prepared well for the cold, so walking the trails and exploring was actually quite nice and refreshing. Just what we were looking for! We stayed in the Sapphire cabin and discovered the placement was just perfect for the sunlight coming in through the windows. The clouds opened up halfway through the day and the blue sky along with the setting sun was so beautiful to watch from the top of the hill behind the cabin. Steve was a wonderful host, provided a very welcoming space for our retreat, and was incredibly accommodating and available if we needed anything. This experience may not be for everyone, but

Steve is an excellent host!!! He is great at making you feel comfortable and at home. The Stone Light is a place full of magic. It is has so much charm and character. The faery energy is all around and opens the heart to love. My stay as a returning retreater was magnificent! I felt more alive and free. Steve has everything that is needed in the cabins. The outhouses are an added charm! :) I was fortunate enough to have a hummingbird fly right to my cabin window and saw deer passing by. If you are looking for a place to stay and rediscover your inner beauty and feel love from Mother Earth, you have found a piece of heaven.

In 2010, as I took off on a solo trip around the country in my 2001 Blue Ford Focus, my two teenage granddaughters challenged me to do something I've never done before. I would scout retreat centers on the internet as I went and found Stone Light. I love the name so I went out in search of it. I found this lovely wooded area with stone benches and cairns and circles. I was led to a cabin standing alone with an outhouse. Water was brought in and the bed was in a loft with a ladder. I was 66 years old and had never been camping . I knew this my challenge! I stayed for five blissful days, even though I was terrified to go to outhouse at night and afraid I would die getting down from the loft. I loved the chapel and labyrinth and sitting on stones and benches enveloped in green all around me.

Steve Jensen has created a sweet and sacred spot to relax, connect and touch the Earth. The grounds for each cabin are private and beautiful reflecting the natural state of the land. The wild geranium and mayapples were blooming this week, oh glory! I love the swing down by the twin oak! The Zen Stone Garden is a perfect spot to create a stone mandala on the Earth. The forest bathing trail is so sweet. bringing intention to retreater's stays and there is now a healing circle in a grove of old growth oaks and friends...a healing portal into the Earth. If you are new age or just need somewhere quiet to look at your life this is the place to do it. I spent five days here and I was able to find some of the answers I was looking for. I was a quarter of a mile from the lodge and the only one there so it was just me and my thoughts. I see a deer, a racoon, a rabbit, and various birds. There are three cabins, I had the Emerald cabin. It had two futons and a mattress in the loft. It was very comfortable. it had a fire pit outside and a lot of trees. You can go up a ways, still on the property and you hit a plateau with no trees but a chapel a miniature monolith, a labyrinth, and a wonderful swing that will fit two. It is by the road but the road is not traveled much and at night if you find a clearing you can see lots of stars. There
