Stewartville Animal Clinic

My dog has seizures and they started none stop. They were amazing and save my dog. We have no veterinarians that do on call anymore and we had to drive an hour to get her to the clinic. They are not a regular vet. I am tired 😫 of not having a vet close on call. We do have couple but they are not taking patients. I grateful we got her into Stewardville and they are their all hours for our pets.. I saw a post that someone was upset they "were more interested in money". What people don't understand is they need informed consent with prices. They have to do this.

We've taken our dogs and cat there over many years and thought we had a good relationship with them although they seem to have a frequent turnover in Vets. Our little Bishon (dog) is highly allergic to the outdoors. Without meds, he becomes frantic, chewing his hair off till he bleeds all over. We worked with them over a couple years getting the right medication and the right dose. Finally, at 4mg twice per day he settled down and became comfortable. They've been good about renewing his prescription with the Pharmacy and have renewed it several times - until this time. The Doctor denied the renewal request. She said we were mis-dosing him since the recommended dose is only 5.6 mg once per day. I tried to explain that he is finally doing so well if she would just review his record

It is sad that the first thing when I got there to pick up my dog was wanting payment. No going over what was done, treatment plan, care, nothing. Just wanted there payment desperately!!!! Then to top it off didn't give me the medication to take home that was paid on the bill. I could say more about the whole visit but it is to upsetting. Terrible care.

Dr. Meier is an absolute angel! I had never met this vet or been to the Stewartville Clinic before. Today I had to bring my beautiful furry boy, my best friend, to her because he was sick and not getting better. She talked through all of the options and was so intuitive to what my husband and I were thinking and feeling. She helped us make a decision that was best for us and for Kirby. Saying goodbye is so painful, but she made it very peaceful and special. Thank you Dr. Susan Meier!!

Brought our dog in for an emergency bleed. All they seemed to care about was the money. Asked questions and was not given answers. Was told we had to bring him in for surgery elsewhere as they were not equipped to do the surgery. Asked what to do or how we know if the bleeding stops does he still need surgery. Was just told to bring him to our regular vet. I'm grateful they were able to stop the bleeding, but was not given clear answers when asking questions. The staff were better, but the vet wouldn't answer questions and when they went to ask the vet..... again no answer. Not impressed. I understand they don't get paid with some people but the constant talk about money and not our "baby" was gross.
