Sterling Care Riverside

I’m giving a 1 star rating. There are a few select staff there that are great. They treated my grandmother with dignity and actually cared about her well fair. They did their best and it really showed. However, If you have a loved one with dementia or can’t advocate for themselves watch this place like a hawk! Try to check in at different times throughout the day. Ask questions. Questions about what/how much they ate and drank. Bathroom habits, ect… My grandmother was there for a fractured hip. She was way over medicated! Medicated to the point she couldn’t eat or drink on her own. Could barely stay awake and very lethargic. Because of that she wasn’t able to get up to use the bathroom. Some of the staff were resistant to use a bedpan pan and she was told to “just go” in her diaper. When

I am Biishop Roger Tatuem, Overseer of Helping Hands Ministries in Churchville, Maryland. I. Visited my parishioner, Minister Janice Grant. I prayed for both Min Grant and her roommate. The facility was clean and absent of the fowl odor normally found in nursing facilities. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. My grandmother, Eva M Logan was a patient at this facility in 1998-99. In my opinion, she was not well cared for and eventually passed while there. I witnessed a remarkable improvement since her stay there.

Update- I was contacted by the facility administrator and was able to talk about our experience there. He was willing to listen to our concerns our mom’s care while there. Hopefully this will help someone else. No matter where your parent goes, keep close tabs on everything because I think care issues happen at all of them. Our elderly mom was there for three weeks. We were pleased with how she was treated by staff for the most part. There were a few times Mom was encouraged to “just go in the bed and I’ll clean you up”, which was very upsetting to her. The proper use of a fractured bedpan should be reviewed with staff. She had a surgically repaired broken femur, near the hip joint and using one improperly is painful for the patient. Good point- any necessary testing/procedures were done

I had a blast at Sterling care riverside!!! Staff was amazing, food needed spicing up but I'm grateful for my stay!! Happy to be back in tip top shape!!

Having a great experience here at Ateelincare Riverside staff are very professional and caring. I think the management is very caring abd i always enjoy my tberapy its the best part of this gig!!!
