Dr. Pereira and team literally saved my life. One day after a stem cell transplant, my bowel perforated, and I had to have emergency surgery. Dr. Stephen Pereira did my 10-hour surgery to remove a tumor the size of a grapefruit. First off I read reviews on what a great surgeon when speaking of Dr. Pereira. I was impressed so I made an appointment for what I thought was a hernia. I had to wait 5 weeks for the appointment, since he only sees patients on Mondays. On the day of the appointment I was in the waiting room for 25 minutes. It was determined by the doctor that I would need a CAT scan. I had it done the very next day and received results as did the doctor. I called the office to find out when I may expect a call from the doctor to discuss the results. Again I was told he would be in surgery the remainder of the week and that he would contact me on Monday. Dr. Pereira and his staff were nothing less than incredible. There are insufficient words to describe how thoughtful, attentive, professional, and caring they all were. The staff and Dr. Pereira worked so hard to get me taken care of as quickly as possible. They truly went above and beyond for us, certainly much more than any other doctor’s office that I’ve ever seen. Dr. Pereira laparoscopically repaired a painful inguinal hernia that was making it difficult to stand and walk.
