St. Mark's Radiology

Yesterday I had the worst medical test experience of my life . Perry Doyle was the breast MRI tech and was extremely dismissive bordering on abusive. I have L shoulder osteoarthritis and the placement in the machine was extremely painful. Perry's response was: "yes most women complain about this" But you are going to have this every year because you have breast cancer" What he is a doctor deciding my care? " Don't breathe too hard or we will have to start over" "well men have problems too they have prostate problems" What does this have to do with my procedure or making me more comfortable for this MRI? This was a terrible experience. I will never have tests at St Marks again. Women be warned! This is a bad place for a breast MRI!

I had a echocardiogram on October 14, 2020. The check in process was quick, the ladies were very nice and professional. The Tech (I wish I could remember her name) came and got me within a few minutes. We talked while walking to the echo lab. She was very professional, friendly and through. While she was performing the echo we talked and she briefly explained the chambers of my heart, I totally understand that the techs can't give too much info, as I have had numerous echo's since 1992. I was very pleased on the way I was treated and would refer family and friends to St. Marks radiology department.

Dishonest about billing. We were told by St. Mark's that our insurance was contacted ahead of our imaging and the total amount was already determined. We were then told by paying our copay and responsible amount the day of the imaging, we'd receive a % discount. At the time of payment, we were told our portion was fulfilled. 1 month later and we get charged the extra % that was discounted. Don't pretend to give a discount if you can't honor it.

BEWARE! They are going to rip you off! $1300 for 2 xrays which I paid about $70 at other places. I got 'admitted' to the hospital even though the radiology dept. had my xray order. Didn't talk to a single nurse or doctor.

I wouldn’t get your imaging done here if your life depended on it. They have horrible communication, they don’t answer their phone, and they won’t give you access to your images. Do better, St. Marks. This is so frustrating when I am trying to send imaging to a surgeon and don’t want to redo the x-rays to avoid further radiation. Terrible disappointing. What a waste of time and money. Shame on you.
